Silicon Valley is one of the oldest and densest data center markets in the United States, centred on Santa Clara, where many colocation buildings sit within a few miles of each other. It is one of the primary markets in CBRE's semiannual reports.
[1]Power availability limits how fast new capacity arrives, so much of the work here is fit-out, expansion and technology refresh inside existing buildings — dense, live-environment cabling rather than greenfield campus construction.

What Silicon Valley jobs need from a crew
- Live-environment work. Expansion and refresh inside operating facilities, under strict MOP and change control. This is rack and stack and structured cabling work where cleanliness and documentation matter as much as speed.
- California compliance. California requires contractor licensing for low-voltage work above the minor-work threshold (CSLB class C-7), applies the ABC test to worker classification, and has its own Cal/OSHA rules, including an indoor heat illness standard.
