Metro Phoenix is one of the top data center construction markets in the country, with hyperscale and large colocation campuses in the East Valley around Mesa and Chandler and a growing cluster in the West Valley around Goodyear, Avondale and Buckeye. It is one of the primary markets tracked in CBRE's semiannual North America data center reports.

What Phoenix builds need from a crew
- Heat management. Summer temperatures change how long a crew can work in a shell or outdoors. Crews come acclimatized or are acclimatized on arrival, and outdoor OSP work is often moved to night shift.
- Dust. Fiber hates dust. Connector inspection and cleaning before every mating is non-negotiable on Phoenix sites.
- Phased campuses. Many sites build out in phases. We keep a crew core on site between phases and scale up for each one.

- Heat is the main field risk here. Crews follow a heat illness prevention plan — water, rest breaks, shade, acclimatization for new arrivals, buddy checks — and shift start times move earlier in summer where the site allows. Night shifts are common for outdoor and unconditioned work.
